Fitness: Day One

Hello dearies,

It’s been a while since I have been to the gym. A lot of things have been going on and my focus has mostly been on getting through each day as it happened. Unfortunately, that put working out at the back of my mind and completely bumped off my priority list. Some people would say ‘You’re just making excuses’. If they want to view it like that, fine, but remember, everyone is dealing with something that you may not even have to worry about.

Anyways, today was my first day back and it felt great walking through those doors…. even if is was at 4:45 in the morning and I just rolled out of bed twenty minutes ago. But still, the important fact is that I made it there. I did not reach the intensity level that I used to be at because throwing myself back into that routine would be a set back and possibly ending up injured. Baby steps, gotta remember that. Each week, I will give an update on progress, including photos. It’s always fun to see your transformation and look back to where you started and feel extremely proud of how far you’ve come.

My three goals to reach within the next four weeks are:

  • Be able to run for 25 minutes
  • Lose 5 lbs
  • Get to the gym at least 4 times a week

It will be hard but focus and dedication are key. Which is what everyone says. I know there will be mornings that I will put my alarm on snooze the max number of times before it shuts itself off or nights where I will not be able to get to bed until close to eleven o’clock but if you really want something, you have to work for it. And that is a heck of a lot easier said than done. Are there motivation tips or tricks you guys use?

XOXO, Kelly
